Here is the backstory:
The other big hold up with the re-do is bookshelves. I am a huge booklover (book addict may be more accurate) and I have hundreds of them. Right now they are stacked on the floor (I am using my old ugly bookshelves for storage in my junk room) and it's getting pretty old. I have been looking for new white bookcases to go with the new living room but have been rather shocked at how expensive bookcases are! It's just pieces of wood nailed together - no hinges, no intricate carving, no springs - how does that end up being $1500? So I'm hunting for bookshelves. I also needed a TV stand (I still have a tube TV). Well, a couple of months ago I got to thinking, if I got a flat screen TV (which will probably happen soon anyway, as my TV was getting older), I could just stand the TV on the bookcase, or hang it on the wall. Lucky for me, I had a birthday coming up. So I picked out a white 32" Vizio and mom and dad bought it for my birthday present. I think the white looks so great in the living room - way less obtrusive than black. Plus it is an "Eco" Tv - it uses 44% less power than regular LCD TV's. How can you beat that?! It arrived Tuesday at my local Wal-Mart (it was only available online so I used Wal-Mart's free site-to-store shipping) and I am so tickled with it.
